Inigo Campervan

Notes for Hirers

Everything you need to know before and during your hire. Please read this page carefully — it covers safety, operation, and all the practical details to make your trip smooth and enjoyable.

📋

Before You Go

Please take time to review the full inventory of Inigo's contents, available as a PDF link provided at handover. Make sure you're familiar with all the controls before you set off.

Speed limit: Inigo is restricted to 65 mph. Please do not attempt to exceed this.
Licence requirement: Inigo exceeds 3.5 tonnes. You must hold a valid Category C1 driving licence to drive this vehicle. A standard Category B licence is not sufficient.
📡

Tracker & Security

Inigo is fitted with a GPS tracker that, if turned on, sends an alert when the van moves.

The tracker alert switch must be switched off whenever you drive — otherwise it will send me an unnecessary alert. Remember to switch it back on whenever Inigo is left unattended.
🔑

Doors & Locking

Inigo's doors lock automatically when you close the last open door — except the driver's door. Always keep your keys with you.

Important: The large side door locks the van when shut if all other doors are already closed. If it is not shut properly it may still lock but cannot then be opened from the inside. If this happens just go outside and push the right side of the door firmly until you hear a clunk.
🔥

Gas Safety

Inigo has an LPG gas system for heating and cooking. There are two shutoff valves located in the boot area near the outside shower. One for the Hob and one for the Boiler.

Never drive with the gas on. Always turn off the gas at the shutoff valves before moving the vehicle. The video below also shows you how to shut the gas off at the cannister, which is located under the van.

Heating System

Inigo's heating can run on either LPG gas or mains electric hookup at a campsite. The video below walks you through how to use the heating system.

When connecting to a mains hookup at a campsite, plug Inigo in first, then connect to the campsite socket.
🛏️

Making the Second Bed

Inigo has a second bed that can be configured when needed. The video below shows you exactly how to set it up. If you are going to use the second bed please make sure you bring bedding.

Refuelling Inigo

Inigo runs on diesel. The fuel flap is located behind the passenger door and can only be opened when the passenger door is also open.

💧

Water System

Inigo has a 100-litre fresh water tank located in the garage area. The water pump is controlled by a switch in the control cupboard above the wardrobe, labelled "WATER PUMP".

If you run out of water: turn off the water pump switch immediately. If left on, the pump will keep trying to draw water and may be damaged. Refill the tank before switching it back on.

The grey waste water tank has an audible alarm that sounds when it is full. Movement can also trigger a false alarm — there is a "waste alarm off" switch to prevent this while driving.

Empty the grey waste water tank before leaving each campsite. The grey valve is on the driver's side of the van.
🚽

Toilet & Cassette

The toilet cassette is accessed from the rear garage door via two side clips. The cassette has wheels so you can pull it to the campsite waste point.

  1. Empty the cassette via the tube at the top — twist it upright to open.
  2. Refill the cassette with water, then empty it again. Repeat once more.
  3. After the second empty, add 2 litres of water and one cap of the provided liquid.
  4. Replace and secure the cassette in the garage before driving.
Please ensure the cassette is emptied before you return Inigo after your last campsite.
🌤️

Roof Deck & Skylight

The roof deck is accessible via the skylight above the bed — a brilliant spot for stargazing or morning coffee.

Before driving: always ensure the skylight is firmly closed. An open skylight can be damaged at speed or in low-clearance areas.
